Choosing a Paddle

 

If you're new to pickleball and looking for your first paddle, go for an inexpensive composite or graphite paddle right away. #2 Weight. Weight is the most important factor when choosing a paddle. Pickleball paddles can range from 6 to 14 ounces.

Choosing a weight

A lighter weight paddle is ideal for beginners. Start some around 7.5oz or less. As your quickness and skills improve you can go up in weight for more power.

 

Choosing your paddles construction material

There are 4 main materials used in the construction of a pickleball paddle. Materials range from inexpensive wood paddles to lighter more expensive paddles made of carbon fiber.

What does a paddle cost?

A standard paddle made of composite materials starts around $60. More expensive paddles the use lighter materials can cost over $200.
